Seedling stage: frequent irrigation promotes seedling growth
During the seedling stage, sugarcane leaves are few and transpiration is relatively weak, so water demand is not high. At this time, irrigating with large amounts of water can cause waterlogging, leading to seedling decay or poor soil permeability, which is not conducive to seedling rooting and growth. Therefore, seedlings should follow the principle of frequent watering and maintain a soil moisture content of 30 centimeters at the surface layer
